Vernon Resident Receives Jo Anne J. Trow Scholarship from Alpha Lambda Delta

MANCHESTER, N.H. (August 8, 2022) – Amani Clemons, a Vernon, Conn. resident and rising junior at Saint Anselm College, received the Joe Anne J. Trow Scholarship in the amount of $3000 for the 2022-23 academic year. Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD), a national honor society for first-year undergraduate students of which Clemons is a member, selects only 50 students annually across the country to receive this fellowship and is designed to help students offset the cost of their college tuition. To be considered for this scholarship, a student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and participate in ALD activities as well as campus and community service activities.

Clemons, a politics major with a minor in campaign management, is heavily involved on campus. She serves on the Communications Committee for the New Hampshire Institute of Politics’ Kevin B. Harrington Student Ambassador Program and works as their TV Studio Handler. Outside of NHIOP, Clemons is a Team Leader for Transitions, a program designed to help incoming freshmen adjust to college life. She also serves as a Student Representative for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Plan Committee.

Clemons was also one of 7 students nationally accepted for a paid internship with Alpha Lambda in the area of Marketing and Communications. As a result, one of her projects, to create an online resource for chapters on programming and recruiting ideas and events, will be accessible to over 279 chapters throughout the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

“It has been an honor to receive this scholarship and I am grateful for those who have contributed to my successful application” said Clemons.
