Craig Williams Files Candidacy Papers for Iowa Senate District 6 Ballot

Manning, IA (Marach 13, 2020) – On March 9, Craig Williams, candidate for Iowa Senate District 6, officially filed with the Secretary of State’s office to be on the ballot for the Republican primary to be held in June. Senate candidates are required to gather and submit petitions including the signatures of at least 100 voters who reside within the district; Williams submitted 249.

The seat is currently held by State Senator, Mark Segebart, who is not seeking re-election. District 6 includes Buena Vista, Sac, Carroll, Audubon and eastern Crawford County.

Williams, 56, and his wife, Cindy, have resided in Manning, Iowa in southwest Carroll County since 1991 where Craig has been an active agriculture businessman.

Craig Williams stated:

“I’ve been an active volunteer in politics since I was 12 years-old knocking on doors, chairing the County Central Committee, a member of the State Central Committee, Treasurer for King for Congress, Treasurer for the Republican Party of Iowa, and a delegate at the local, state and national levels, among other things. Our kids are grown and raising their own families now and I run my own business, so the timing is right for us to take this next step.”

“I’ll be a strong advocate for life, agriculture, Constitutional rights, accountability in government, and a good steward of taxpayer money. I look forward to the challenge of representing the 6th District in the State Senate.”
