Williams nominated for Saint Mary’s 2022 Outstanding Senior

WINONA, Minn. (March 18, 2022) — Elijah Williams, son of Heath and Rachael Williams of Beloit, Wis., was nominated for Saint Mary’s University’s 2022 Outstanding Senior award.

Outstanding Seniors have demonstrated the ideals of scholarship, character, leadership, service to colleagues and the university community, as well as genuine concern for the needs of others.

Williams is a biology major on the pre-medical track, with a minor in chemistry and an interdisciplinary minor in creativity and inquiry. During the past four years, Williams has been involved in the Biology Club, Future Health Professional’s Club, and was inducted into the Beta Beta Beta biological honor society. He most recently has served as the 2021-2022 Student Senate president, and also served as a resident assistant in Brother William Hall during his sophomore and junior years. In addition, he has worked as an overnight admissions host and a tutor in the Student Success Center. During his freshman year, he participated in the IMPACT Program, which is hosted by Mayo Clinic’s Center for Regenerative Medicine, and during his junior year, he was selected to participate in the Innovation Partner’s Program, through the Minnesota Private College Council. Upon his graduation, Williams hopes to attend a post-baccalaureate program or obtain a position as a junior scientist to gain more experience conducting scientific research. Following this, he hopes to attend medical school and specialize in physician scientist training.

Jordan Keeley and Trevor Paradise were the two students recognized as the 2022 Outstanding Seniors at the university’s Founders’ Day celebration.

Other nominees for the honor included Mary Furlong, Terra Lieser, Jordan Modjeski, Destiny Walker, Jack Hatton, Jonathon Krull, and Angel Sacta Espinoza.
