Iowa Health Care Association Delivers Christmas Toys for Tots in Central Iowa

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (December 21, 2022) – This December, employees and members of the Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA), a statewide trade association for long-term care providers, participated in a “Fill the Box Toy Drive” for Des Moines Toys for Tots. Over 40 new toys were collected at IHCA’s West Des Moines Office that will be distributed to economically disadvantaged children this holiday season.

“The Iowa Health Care Association and Toys for Tots share a common goal in helping vulnerable Iowa families in their time of need,” said Brent Willett, president and CEO of the IHCA. “IHCA serves those who help our state’s elderly and medically vulnerable, and Toys for Tots helps children whose parents cannot afford gifts for Christmas. We are excited to celebrate the season by bringing together our two organizations to help Iowa families in need this holiday.”

Des Moines Toys for Tots, a subsidiary of the national Toys for Tots Foundation, is staffed by active-duty marines and serves over 30 Central Iowa counties and supports an average of 20,000 children annually. The organization distributed over 47,000 toys in Des Moines in 2021.
