Iowans Launch World Premiere of Two Television Pilots

Thor Moreno, Director, Writer, debuts his latest TV series “Burn.”

Jan Walters brings her Des Moines-based novel, “Red Sunset Drive – A Ghost and a Cop Series,” to life

DES MOINES, Iowa (November 20, 2018) – Two Des Moines-area residents are premiering their new television pilots on December 8, 2018, at 9:30 PM at the Varsity Theater in Des Moines, Iowa. “Burn” is an original story written and directed by Thor Moreno of Global View Productions. “Red Sunset Drive” is based on the novel with the same title by Jan Walters. Moreno wrote the screenplay and directed “Red Sunset Drive.”

Moreno’s project, “Burn,” stars Lance Henriksen of “Aliens” and “Pumpkinhead” and Raymond J. Berry of “Justified” and “Gotham.” Burn is a powerful drama of the Walsh siblings; an Iowa farming family engaged in the growth of a super-strain of marijuana. With the death of the family’s patriarch, competing drug dealers descend, eager to snap up the family business. However, when the Walsh’s refuse to sell, things get very ugly, very fast.

In “Red Sunset Drive,” sleuthing protagonist Des Moines Detective Brett O’Shea is charged with investigating a series of murders after a vampire is rumored to be terrorizing the city. After his girlfriend accepts a job in another city, O’Shea throws himself into the investigation with the help of a ghostly partner. O’Shea is forced to accept that the paranormal monsters found in fiction books may be more real than he ever imagined.

“Sometimes, we all need an escape from reality or the humdrum of everyday life,” Walters said. “The film series ‘Red Sunset Drive’ provides that escape by offering readers a glimpse into the life of a cop with a supernatural twist.”

The viewing of Burn and Red Sunset Drive will be open to the public. Advance ticket sales will begin on November 25th. VIP ticket packages available. To purchase tickets, go to
