Keeley named Saint Mary’s 2022 Outstanding Senior

WINONA, Minn. (March 18, 2022) — Saint Mary’s University is proud to announce Jordan Keeley, daughter of Jeff and Kim Keely of St. Peter, Minn., has been named the university’s 2022 Outstanding Female Senior.

Keeley, along with this year’s Outstanding Male Senior Trevor Paradise, received the honor during the university’s Founders’ Day celebration on March 15. Outstanding Seniors have demonstrated the ideals of scholarship, character, leadership, service to colleagues and the university community, as well as genuine concern for the needs of others.

Keeley is a double major in pre-physical therapy-biology and leadership, a first for a Saint Mary’s student. She is a member of the women’s hockey team, president of the Saint Teresa and Peter Leadership Club, and is the leader of the Green Bandana Project’s mental health campaign on campus. She is involved in intramurals and is a member of the Intentional Acts of Kindness Club, Buddies, and the Tri-Beta and Delta Epsilon Sigma honor societies. On the Student Senate, Keeley represents the halls of Saint Yon’s, Saint Benilde, and Gilmore Creek. She has worked on campus as an orientation leader, executive orientation leader, and peer tutor for the upper-division science courses. During the summer of 2021, Keeley ran/walked 250 miles in 100 days to raise money for the Saint Mary’s Benefit, formerly known as the Taylor Richmond Benefit. In recognition of her involvement on campus and her community service, she was named one of five finalists for the national Hockey Humanitarian Award. After graduation, she plans to earn a master’s in organizational leadership from Saint Mary’s and return as a member of the women’s hockey team before applying to physical therapy school. Eventually, Keeley plans to become a physical therapist specializing in pediatrics or athletics and would like to coach youth hockey.

The eight other students nominated for Outstanding Senior included Mary Furlong, Terra Lieser, Jordan Modjeski, Destiny Walker, Jack Hatton, Jonathon Krull, Angel Sacta Espinoza, and Elijah Williams.
