WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (March 12, 2009) - Jim Haag, a counselor at Garner-Hayfield High School, completed his second year of a three-year term on the Advisory Council for the Iowa College Access Network(r) (ICAN) recently.

The ICAN Advisory Council met on Tuesday, March 10, to discuss updates to ICAN's services, which include free financial aid and college planning counseling, presentations and materials for Iowa students. The 13-member council meets twice each year.

"The Advisory Council has firsthand knowledge of the issues students are facing every day," said Juan Garcia, manager of ICAN. "The Council's insights and suggestions allow us to provide quality services that families can use now as they plan for postsecondary education."
