AARP Nebraska hosts community conversation on future of Medicare & Social Security in North Platte July 19

LINCOLN, NEB. - AARP Nebraska will host a community conversation about the future of Medicare and Social Security at the North Platte Senior Center in North Platte on July 19.

AARP recently launched You've Earned a Say, a national conversation about strengthening health and retirement security. Nebraskans are participating in You've Earned a Say through community conversations, public forums, teletown hall sessions and other events spanning the state from Omaha to Scottsbluff this year.

"AARP is taking the debate about the future of Medicare and Social Security out from behind closed doors in Washington so Nebraskans can have a voice," said Bob Eppler, state president of AARP Nebraska. "Our members and older Nebraskans have worked too hard to let the next President and Congress decide the future of Medicare and Social Security without hearing from us."

The You've Earned a Say community conversation hosted by AARP Nebraska will be held in North Platte on Thursday, July 19.The free event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the North Platte Senior Center, 901 East 10th St. A light dinner will be provided at no cost.

The community conversation is open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. RSVP by July 12 by calling 1-877-926-8300 toll free. For more about You've Earned a Say, see www.earnedasay.org.
