IOWANS WALK TO BETTER HEALTH
5,106 Iowans registered for Live Healthy Iowa challenge
AMES, Iowa - Sept. 19, 2012 - Live Healthy Iowa's challenge, 'The Next Step', kicked off nearly two weeks ago with Iowans stepping up to better health. Currently 902 teams are registered in the second year of the Challenge. Registration for The Next Step Challenge will close on Sept. 21.
The Next Step Challenge is made up of teams of 2-10 Iowans who participate in a friendly competition by tracking the number of steps taken each week. Team members report their weekly total every Friday throughout the Challenge on their personal online tracking page. As of Sept. 19, teams have reported 215,617,515 steps equaling 107,809 miles.
