Columbia College-Salt Lake to hold commencement Oct. 13
College recognizes 95 new graduates in the Salt Lake area
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 13, 2012 - Columbia College will recognize graduates at the Salt Lake campus commencement ceremony Saturday, Oct.13. The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in West Valley City, Utah. The event will recognize 95 students who completed associate, bachelor's or master's degree requirements during the 2011-2012 academic year.
Dr. Suzanne Tourville, associate professor of mathematics and chair of the computer and mathematical sciences department for Columbia College, will give the commencement address. Mike Randerson, Vice President for Adult Higher Education, will confer the degrees. Christian Babcock '07 will provide the alumni charge.
"We continue to be amazed by the way our graduates succeed while balancing their numerous responsibilities and career goals," said Randerson. "We are always pleased to be able to honor their accomplishments with a commencement celebration."
Columbia College-Salt Lake was established in 1975 at Fort Douglas Army Education Center and originally served military personnel at Fort Douglas and the Army National Guard units in the area. The campus moved off the post in 1989 and to its present location near Interstate 15 and 5300 South in Murray, Utah in 2008.
