Mo Hyder Elected 2013 Iowa Gaming Association Board Chair

Mo Hyder, Vice President & General Manager, for Rhythm City, an Isle of Capri Casino property in Davenport, was elected Chairman of the Iowa Gaming Association, (IGA) for 2013 at its annual board of directors meeting. Hyder previously served as the Vice-Chairman and is the Chairman of the Finance Committee for the IGA.

Hyder is a 22 year veteran of the gaming industry. In addition to his current position, he has served as the Vice President & General Manager for Isle of Capri Casinos property in Bettendorf. During his tenure, Hyder has held several key financial management positions with prominent organizations, including Vice President of Finance at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino.

Wes Ehrecke, IGA President and CEO noted that strong leadership for the industry would continue with Hyder replacing Joe Massa as IGA Chair. "Mo has extensive experience in the gaming industry and takes an active role in the communities he has worked in," said Ehrecke. "He has served on the IGA board in various leadership roles for the past several years and his many years of casino management and financial expertise make him well qualified to lead the Association as its Chair," Ehrecke said.

Hyder is an active business community leader. He currently serves on several boards, including Junior Achievement, Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau, Scott County Family Y and Downtown Davenport Partnership. He also Chair's and serves on several committees including the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce's Audit & Finance Committee, Community Affairs Committee and Downtown Davenport Business Retention & Recruitment Committee along with the Davenport Community School District's Resource Allocation Committee. Hyder holds two Master's degrees, an MBA and Master's in Computer Information Technology. He received his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, IA. Hyder calls the Quad Cities home where he enjoys spending time with his wife and five sons, volunteering in the community, traveling and boating.
