POLK COUNTY CENTRAL ACCTG
COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2012
Clifton Gunderson recently released an audit report on the Polk County, Iowa, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the year ended June 30, 2012.
The County retained $133,981,799 of the local tax revenue to finance County operations, a 3% increase from the prior year. Other revenues included fees, fines and charges for service of $75,128,361, operating grants and contributions of $56,819,369, capital grants and contributions of $1,424,621, use of money and property of $276,649, state replacements of $2,507,895 and other general revenues of $2,199,649.
Expenses for County operations totaled $277,477,553, a 2% increase from the prior year. Expenses included $67,744,452 for public safety and legal services, $59,804,417 for mental health and $37,511,827 for physical health and social services.
A report containing recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and other County Officials will be issued under separate cover in the near future.
