ACHIEVING A MORE PROFITABLE OPERATION: 2013 Crop Fair Offers Management Information

JOHNSTON, Iowa - January, 2013 - This winter's Sciota Crop Fair has a program designed to help local growers deal with the volatility in modern agriculture, according to organizers with the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) and Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB). The program will be February 7, 2013 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 2609 University Boulevard in Ames, Iowa. The free program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with complimentary lunch served at 12:00 p.m.

Featured presentations include "Iowa Corn Update" by Carrie Dodds, Services Representative with Iowa Corn Growers Association; "2013 - Will Drought Repeat" by Bryce Anderson, DTN and "Ag Market Update" by Dan Greder and Steve Reece with Sciota Trading of Ames.

"With today's market volatility and weather challenges, it is important to have up-to-date information," says Carrie Dodds, ICGA/ICPB grower service representative. "The crop fair program should give local growers access to information that can really help their bottom line."

Sponsors of the crop fair include: Sciota Trading, Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa Corn Promotion Board.

For questions or to RSVP by February 4th, contact Dan Greder, Sciota Trading at dan@sciota- trading.com.

The ICGA and ICPB work with local sponsors each winter to provide crop fairs across the state. The programs are intended to give producers free and direct access to timely information on issues facing Iowa agriculture. A complete list of 2013 crop fairs is available on the Iowa Corn website at www.iowacorn.org.
