Vacation Memories Begin: Sports & Vacation Show
The 12th annual Rochester Sports & Vacation Show will take place in conjunction with the Blufflands Deer and Turkey Show on Friday, February 1 through Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. This is "Where Family Vacation Memories Begin".
This year's event features an array of representatives that will be available to discuss fishing, hunting, camping, and Charter fishing adventures in the U.S., Canada, as well as International Safari destinations and over 15 hours of seminar presentation by national and regional presenters.
Musky to Trout, Wildlife Art to Vacation Accessories, this show will have a variety of special retail displays for home and outdoor needs. A variety of ATV, Camper and Marine dealers will be presenting a wide assortment of ATV's, Fishing Boats, Ski Boats, Pontoons, Docks, Campers, RV's, Travel Trailers, 5th Wheelers, Motor Homes, Truck Accessories and more at this year's event.
A special feature at this year's event includes the "World's Greatest Whitetails" by Klaus and Nola Lebrecht of "Antlers by Klaus". Klaus is the worlds' most prestigious antler replication artisan with numerous national awards. Their amazing and ever changing display includes record breaking Regional, State and Provincial trophies, many in life size full body representation including the Minnesota Monarch and the famous Knisely Buck from Meeker County. World Record Real Langlois Moose and a premier collection of record breaking sheds.
When talking shed antlers who better to learn from than one of the premier trainers in the world. Tom Dokken, owner of Dokken Dog Supply and Dokken Oak Ridge Kennels and president of the North American Shed Hunting Dog Association is a tremendous trainer and inventor of training equipment. He will be sharing his knowledge during daily seminars on "Training Your Dog To Hunt For Shed Antlers".
Other featured seminar presenters appearing at this year's event include Billy Molls, Hunting TV personality and Alaskan Big Game Guide, speaking on Alaska hunting. Guide Al Heidebrink with Thunderhook Camps in Ontario presents Moose Hunting 101 as the topic of the seminar presented by Canadian Fishing and Hunting. Kyle Thompson with Prairie Land Management, seminar on "Small Property Management For Whitetails" is based on his lengthy experience in Food Plot development and management. Boundary Waters for Newbies by noted photographer Larry Ricker of LHR Images will also be present.
Family Activities and Just for Kids Displays by wildlife groups will Include a variety of Archery and Laser Shot displays sponsored by Archery Headquarters, Tri-County Pheasants T.I.P. and Bear Creek-Hiawatha Chapter of the NWTF. A variety of Wildlife groups and Association and local NRA chapter will be on hand for information important to hunters and sportsman.
Show hours will be Fri. 2-8pm Sat. 10am to 7pm and Sun. 10am to 3pm. Admission is $6.00 for adults. Children 12 and under Free when accompanied by a paying adult.
Active and Reserve Military personnel, free with current I.D. Admission provides access to this event and the Rochester Sports & Vacation Show.
