KEEP IOWA BEAUTIFUL
COMMUNITY GRANTS FOR BEAUTIFICATION
Keep Iowa Beautiful's 2013 Community Beautification Grant Program application deadline is April 1, 2013. This is the fourth year of the popular program intended to leverage local dollars, support volunteer efforts and encourage the improvement of the image and appearance of Iowa's communities.
"Any public or nonprofit organization in a community of less than 5,000 population may apply," said Gerry Schnepf, Executive Director of Keep Iowa Beautiful. "Projects eligible include public awareness education, recycling, litter reduction, public nuisance abatement, creation or improvements to green spaces, painting and fix-up, and general landscaping."
The 3-year old program has made awards to over 40 communities. Funding and reimbursement is available for expenses incurred only after July 1, 2013 and the project must be completed by June 30, 2014.
