IOWA PUBLIC TELEVISION
IPTV Welcomes New Executive Director/General Manager
The Iowa Public Broadcasting Board, governing body for Iowa Public Television, today announced its selection of Molly M. Phillips as the network's new Executive Director and General Manager. Phillips, a 23-year veteran of Iowa's only statewide broadcasting network, had been the network's Director of Communications and Community Engagement.
"Molly was a natural fit for this position, both because of her past successes with Iowa Public Television and her commitment to the future of the network," said Robert W. Hall, president of the Iowa Public Broadcasting Board. "Molly has a keen understanding of and appreciation for Iowa Public Television's important role in our state. We look forward to her leadership as the network continues to evolve in today's media environment, providing content that matters to all Iowans."
Phillips has been with Iowa Public Television since 1990. A native of Sidney, Iowa, Phillips has worked in the network's business office and overseeing personnel matters. In her current role, Phillips oversees all communications activities of the network, including the network's online initiatives. She also serves as IPTV's lobbyist at the state and federal levels. She is a graduate of Grand View University in Des Moines.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this outstanding network, and I am grateful for the confidence shown by the Board," said Phillips. "Now more than ever, Iowa Public Television can truly make a difference in the lives of Iowans. I look forward to working with the talented staff at IPTV to continue to grow and enhance our service."
Phillips replaces Daniel K. Miller as Executive Director and General Manager, who retires from the network April 9.
