Speaker provides framework for understanding impact of relationships on the functioning of organizations
Dr. Daniel V. Papero, a senior faculty member at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Washington, D.C., will speak in Des Moines on April 26 and 27 about organizational change and the impact of relationships on the functioning of corporations and organizations. Dr. Papero is an internationally known organizational consultant. "Staying on Course: Using Systems Thinking for the Workplace" will be held Friday, April 26, 8:30 am-4:30 pm at Mercy College of Health Sciences, 928 6thAve. in Des Moines. This is the 39th bi-annual Bowen Family Systems Conference hosted by Center for Life Counseling, Catholic Charities professional counseling program.
"This year's conference will be extremely beneficial to professionals in a variety of fields because change occurs in every organization," said Debra Newman, Director for Center for Life Counseling at Catholic Charities. "Organizational change is often accompanied by anxiety within the workplace. Each individual may benefit by looking at their own role within the organizational system and to find ways to manage effectively in the situation to maintain productivity."

The Bowen Center is internationally recognized for its research, training and clinical service programs in family theory and therapy. The Bowen Family Systems Conference is held bi-annually by Center for Life Counseling at Catholic Charities and is part of the Post Graduate Training Program offered by the Center.
Staffed by licensed therapists, Center for Life Counseling serves not only clients, but also colleagues and other interested individuals through conferences and other post-graduate training opportunities. For more than 50 years, the counseling program at Catholic Charities has provided supportive relationships in a clinical setting to individuals and families of all faiths with a focus on management of anxiety in a variety of life situations.
Appointments are available in downtown Des Moines, Ankeny, Perry and Council Bluffs. Most major insurances are accepted. Clients without insurance can utilize a sliding scale fee structure that meets each client's needs. The scale is based on income and family size and ranges between $10-$125.
