Local student Sarah Anderson nominated for Saint Mary’s University’s Outstanding Senior Award

WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary’s University biology pre-physical therapy major Sarah Anderson, daughter of Karen and Joe Anderson of Lino Lakes, Minn., was nominated for the university’s Outstanding Senior Female Award.

For the past 46 years, Saint Mary’s has honored a male and a female senior who have demonstrated the ideals of scholarship, character, leadership, service to colleagues and the university community, as well as genuine concern for the needs of others.

Anderson has demonstrated these qualities through her involvement with College Colleagues, Buddies, Liturgical Choir, Concert Choir, Volunteer Mentors, T.E.C. (Together Encountering Christ), S.O.U.L. (Serving Others United in Love), Delta Epsilon Sigma (National Scholastic Honor Society), and Beta Beta Beta (National Biology Honor Society). She has also been involved with theatre productions for four years, competed in various intramural sports and participated in the London Study Abroad program her junior year. She also has worked as an ambassador for four years. After graduation, she will be attending St. Catherine’s Physical Therapy program to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a pediatric physical therapist.

The Outstanding Senior Male and Female Awards were presented during the university’s Founder’s Day April 9 to Peter Borash, son of Ron and Ann Borash of North Prairie, Minn., and Constance Budin, daughter of Bruce and Colleen Budin of Le Center, Minn.
