BLANK CHILDREN'S HOSP/SAFE KID
American Country Artist is "Playing for A Change," a tractor ride that will travel across all of Iowa
Des Moines, IA - Never before have we seen a country artist take to the road literally…and on a tractor. Tom Wurth an American Country Artist is "Playing for A Change," a tractor ride that will travel across all of Iowa in June 17-22, 2013 to benefit Variety Intensive Care Neonatal Unit (NICU) equipment needs at Blank Children's Hospital. The Tractor ride will kick off Monday, June 17, in Onawa and end Saturday, June 22, in Dubuque.
Tom has a passion for music and for kids and this project was inevitable, a partnership that helps him give back to the people of Iowa where he has deep roots, having grown up in Marcus Iowa. Dick Barkema, from Klemme, Iowa and country artist Tom Wurth came up with the idea for the event in late last year and it’s a vision that is now becoming a reality. "It's all about the kids," Barkema said its something we want to do and we have to do. The two decided to do something to raise money for Blank Children's Hospital after touring and meeting with hospital officials. The route will follow "old Highway 20" and travel through cities including Fort Dodge and Iowa Falls. Wurth will perform at each overnight stop along the way, ending with a big concert in Dubuque. Wurth also put together a video, which incorporates pictures of Blank Children's Hospital with his new single, "To Love Somebody ". Anyone who wants to ride the tractor can by making a $50 donation. All proceeds will go directly to benefit Blank Children’s Hospital. More information can be accessed at http://www.tomwurth.com and facebook.com/tomwurth.
