CC - Lake County to Hold Commencement Aug. 24
COLUMBIA, Mo., Aug. 21— Columbia College-Lake County will recognize graduates at a commencement ceremony Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the Genesee Theater.
Dr. Terry Smith, interim president at Columbia College will provide the commencement address and confer degrees. Mr. Mark Phelan, director, Navy College Office, will provide remarks. Gary Oedewaldt, associate dean for Adult Higher Education, also will provide remarks. Vicki Ryan ’99 will provide the alumni charge.
“We are exceptionally proud of our students’ achievements," said Oedewaldt. "Many people have helped our students along their academic journey, and commencement is a perfect opportunity for those individuals to participate in the honor as well."
Columbia College–Lake County was established in 1972 at Fort Sheridan Army Base and later moved to Glenview Naval Air Base. Other moves included Waukegan and Park City. In March 2008, after 10 years in Park City, the campus moved to its present location in Gurnee.
