AARP Kansas Sponsors 2nd Annual Senior Spelling Bee at Kansas State Fair
[Hutchinson, KS] Can you spell K-A-N-S-A-S S-T-A-T-E F-A-I-R? That's where spelling and fun come together as AARP sponsors the second annual Kansas State Fair Senior Spelling Bee. Any Kansan, age 50 and older, can compete. All you have to do is register by calling 620-669-3624 or e-mailing email@example.com. The competition takes place on Thursday, Sept. 12 starting at 9 a.m. in the Encampment Building on the fairgrounds. All those who want to compete will take a written spelling test to start off and then the top 10 finalists will participate in an oral spelling bee. The winner will receive $100, with $40 going to the 2nd place finisher. Winners will also receive two tickets each for the train and the Old Mill.
