Beginning in 2014, the Affordable Care Act will make health care available to an estimated 196,000 Nebraskans who are not covered by a health care plan now. Open enrollment in health plans started Oct. 1.
The health care law will provide access to people who have a pre-existing condition, create new marketplaces that will allow insurers to offer more affordable coverage and provide tax credits to lower the cost of coverage.
