Five of 10 finalists will win spot on team, opportunity for major lifestyle changes
AMES, Iowa – Dec. 2, 2013 – Live Healthy Iowa will give 5 Iowans the chance to reach their wellness goals as part of the 2014 Dream Team! All Iowans (age 18+) were eligible to apply and among numerous qualified applicants, Live Healthy
Iowa has selected 10 finalists. The organization is turning to Iowans to vote and help determine the 5 individuals that win a spot on the team. The entire state will cheer on the Dream Team as they share their journey throughout the 2014 10 Week Wellness Challenge to inspire and motivate people to work toward their wellness goals.
The 2014 Dream Team finalists are: Doug Opheim of Maurice, Joe Calvert of Des Moines, Kathy Blackford of Oskaloosa, Larry Toothman of Cedar Rapids, Lu Anne Gafford of Grimes, Robin Norfleet of West Branch, Shawnna Stiver of Des Moines, Sonya Davis of Floris, Stacey Snyder of Tripoli and Sue Brimm of Weldon. The Dream Team will share their struggles, strategies and successes via Facebook and Twitter as well as blogging throughout their journey. Team members will be provided with additional challenge resources such as support from team captain Shawn Johnson of Johnson’s Elite Training, pre and post health assessments, nutrition education, physical activity education, gym membership and a waived challenge fee.
Live Healthy Iowa’s 10 Week Wellness Challenge encourages Iowans to track activity minutes and/or weight loss with a team of 2-10 friends, family or co-workers.
