COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2013
CliftonLarsonAllen LLP recently released an audit report on Polk County, Iowa, for the year ended June 30, 2013.
The County retained $132,068,515 of the local tax revenue to finance County operations, a 1% decrease from the prior year. Other revenues included fees, fines and charges for service of $76,437,686, operating grants and contributions of $24,191,455, capital grants and contributions of $2,031,005, use of money and property of $558,408, state replacements of $3,042,129 and other general revenues of $2,986,753.
Expenses for County operations totaled $236,580,670, a 15% decrease from the prior year. Expenses included $68,677,335 for public safety and legal services, $34,703,552 for physical health and social services and $28,625,011 for administration.
A report containing recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and other County Officials will be issued under separate cover in the near future.
