First Female Solo Sports Radio Host Launches 'Hey Tana! Time' Weekly

Donald Trump’s “Apprentice” star Tana Goertz begins regular schedule on Des Moines’ KXnO

DES MOINES, Iowa, Jan. 9, 2014 – Internationally known personality and finalist on Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice,” Tana Goertz, begins her regular weekly hour-long radio show, “Hey Tana! Time,” from 7 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 9.

Goertz delivered her first two broadcasts as a holiday soft launch in December. “Hey Tana! Time” launches officially into its regular weekly schedule on Thursday. My People App is sponsoring the KXnO 1460 AM program.

More information, Goertz’s weekly blog posts and additional updates are available at KXnO’s “Hey Tana! Time” personality page. “Tana has been fabulous,” said Executive Producer Greg Chance. “People have loved her 20-minute spot on the ‘Murph & Andy Show’ for years, and were asking for more Tana. The response we’ve gotten from the holiday soft launch has been extremely positive – emails, tweets, calls, sponsors – you name it. Folks who know radio are very excited about Tana’s future on air.”

Goertz appeared on television in front of a worldwide audience with an average of over 14 million viewers a week – across 18 episodes – when “The Apprentice” finished Season 3. She followed that with appearances on the reality show “Fear Factor,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brian,” commercial product endorsements and, more recently, her radio spots on KXnO.

“I’m proud to have done so well on Mr. Trump’s ‘The Apprentice,’ and I’ve enjoyed the notoriety that came with that,” Goertz said. “Since then, I’ve done everything I can to give back and, really, simply to help people and do it with style. When Greg talked to me about this opportunity, I just knew the time was right. As I’ve said before – you’re only as good as your last game, so let’s get this show on the road and make some new memories. I am thrilled that Clear Channel is investing in me, and I’m ready to be unforgettable.”

Chance said Goertz is more than likely the first female sports radio host to go solo in the Iowa market. “We have a lot of collective memory at our studio, and that seems to be the case,” Chance said. “We’re proud to make history with Tana, and she’s been creating quite a buzz with recent interviews around town. When Tana’s around, the place lights up, and that’s the feeling she brings to listeners.” Chance noted that someone likened Goertz to a life coach for guys. “I kind of like that,” he said. “She just knows how to say things they can hear – particularly when it comes to relationships. Our female listeners get a big kick out of her, too, so we really don’t know how this will play out. We’re just excited to get a weekly audience tuning in. Bottom line: KXnO is sports. For everything else, we’ve got Tana for that.”

“Be ready for the unpredictable,” Goertz said. “Once we’re on air it’s game on. You never know who’s going to call or what I’m going to say. I give it to them straight. Be sure to listen every Thursday on 1460 AM KXnO from 7-8 p.m. for ‘Hey Tana! Time.’ We’re going to have a blast.”

“Hey Tana! Time” sponsor My People App, an innovative mobile app being launched simultaneously in both the United States and India this month, is available to download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play. The app, which is free to download and use, creates a new cloud based, social business network designed to empower and connect.
