2014 Crop Fair Offers Management Information

JOHNSTON, Iowa - March 7, 2014 - This winter's "Tools for Your Future" Crop Fair has a program designed to help local growers deal with the volatility in modern agriculture, according to organizers with the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) and Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB). The program will be held March 18, 2014 at Legends, 433 1st Avenue East, Spencer, Iowa. Registration begins at 9:30 AM with free coffee and donuts, the program runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and complimentary lunch will be served at noon.

Featured presentations include: "Ethanol - What's Ahead" by Grant Menke, Policy Director at Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, "Marketing 2014 and Beyond" by Chad Hart, ISU Economist, "The State of Iowa Ag" by Mike Naig, Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.

"With today's market volatility and weather challenges, it is important to have up-to-date information," says Brian Peterson, ICGA/ICPB district field manager. "The crop fair program should give local growers access to information that can really help their bottom line."
Sponsors of the crop fair include: Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Corn Promotion Board, Mugge Seed - Dekalb and Asgrow, Farmers Trust & Savings Bank, Greenleaf Agronomy, LLC, Rossie Feed & Grain and Noteboom Implement.

For questions or to RSVP by March 14, call Farmers Trust & Savings Bank at 800-249-3340.

The ICGA and ICPB work with local sponsors each winter to provide crop fairs across the state. The programs are intended to give producers free and direct access to timely information on issues facing Iowa agriculture. A complete list of 2014 crop fairs is available on the Iowa Corn website at www.iowacorn.org/cropfairs.
