"Not only do these students excel on the field and in the classroom, but they also go above and beyond to serve their communities. They exemplify the core values so critical to our industry - honesty, hard work and community service. We are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize these students for their strong character," said John Sorensen, president and CEO of the Iowa Bankers Association. "Our industry is all about trust, and we need to demonstrate these values on a day-to-day basis. We feel it is important to help recognize others in our communities who serve as role models of strong character, like these student athletes, and to help them be successful in the long-term."

For more than two decades, the Iowa Bankers Association has sponsored the Student Athlete Achievement Scholarship Awards program in partnership with the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and Iowa High School Athletic Association.
