What: 10th Annual Golden Silo Awards Luncheon

Who: Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area will honor Heritage Area partners for their work preserving and sharing America's agricultural story.

Join us as Laurie Johns, of the Iowa Farm Bureau, shares the latest insight into today's research and her unique experience, earned after 25 years as an Emmy-winning TV and radio news anchor and reporter.

Why: The Golden Silo Awards honor individuals and organizations whose contributions demonstrate outstanding excellence in preserving and telling America's agricultural story. Luncheon sponsored by Iowa Farm Bureau and Iowa Pork Producers Association.

Background: Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area is one of 49 federally designated heritage areas in the nation and is an Affiliated Area of the National Park Service. The Heritage Area covers 37 counties in the northeast quadrant of Iowa. Interstate 80 borders it on the south and Interstate 35 borders it on the west. Through a network of sites, programs and events, SSNHA interprets farm life, agribusiness and rural communities - past and present.
