WINONA, Minn. - Saint Mary's University psychology major Miles Dunna, son of Wokie Dunna of Saint Paul, Minn., was named the university's Outstanding Senior Male.

For the past 47 years, Saint Mary's has honored a male and a female senior who have demonstrated the ideals of scholarship, character, leadership, service to colleagues and the university community, as well as genuine concern for the needs of others.

Dunna has demonstrated these qualities through his involvements including Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Black Students and Allies, Serving Others United in Love (S.O.U.L.) Council and Student Senate. He also was a Centennial student leader. Dunna has been a member of the university choirs, performed in various music showcases and with the Oldie Moldie All-Stars, and acted in two main-stage theatre productions. He has been a resident assistant for three years in Gilmore Creek Hall and Heffron Hall, and he served as a student ambassador for four years. After graduation, he plans to attend law school and eventually work as an attorney in Minnesota.

The Outstanding Senior Male and Female Awards were presented during the university's Founder's Day April 1. The Outstanding Female Award was given to Amy Spitzmueller, daughter of Kathy and Bill Spitzmueller of New Brighton, Minn.
