SAINT MARY'S UNIV. OF MN

Local student Osborne nominated for Saint Mary's University's Outstanding Senior Award

WINONA, Minn. - Saint Mary's University studio art major Abigail Osborne, daughter of Roger and Pam Osborne of Winthrop, Minn., was nominated for the university's Outstanding Senior Female Award.

For the past 47 years, Saint Mary's has honored a male and a female senior who have demonstrated the ideals of scholarship, character, leadership, service to colleagues and the university community, as well as genuine concern for the needs of others.

Osborne has demonstrated these qualities through her involvements including the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Honor Society, the chamber orchestra, and the concert and liturgical choirs. Osborne has been a resident assistant in Vlazny Hall, Residencia Santiago Miller and LaSalle Hall. She has also been involved with outdoor leadership, through which she has worked as a ropes course facilitator. She has been a member of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams and has participated both socially and competitively for the Ballroom Dance Club. Next year, she will be a full-time volunteer with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC).

The Outstanding Senior Male and Female Awards were presented during the university's Founder's Day April 1 to Miles Dunna, son of Wokie Dunna of Saint Paul, Minn., and Amy Spitzmueller, daughter of Kathy and Bill Spitzmueller of New Brighton, Minn.
