GiveMN Marches Toward $100 Million Milestone with New Technology Partner
Partnership with Kimbia Enables GiveMN to Continue Transforming the Way Charitable Giving Happens in Minnesota
St. Paul, Minn. (April 10, 2014) - GiveMN is joining forces with Kimbia, a leading provider of fundraising technology, in a partnership that will generate new technology solutions and creative ideas to connect more donors with more causes than ever before.
The partnership kicks off this summer, when GiveMN will roll out a Kimbia-powered online giving platform. Nonprofit organizations and schools throughout the state will gain access to a reliable, flexible and simple method for soliciting and accepting charitable donations.
"I'm excited that we are teaming up with Kimbia, the right partner to help us take GiveMN to the next level," said GiveMN Executive Director Dana Nelson. "The new giving platform is just the start. In the coming years, we'll be doing even more to transform the way Minnesotans express their generosity."
The state-of-the-art fundraising platform will power GiveMN's online giving website year-round, and on the annual Give to the Max Day, making it easy and fun for Minnesotans to connect with their favorite causes anytime and anyplace.
"We are both focused on transforming fundraising by providing a superior donor experience," said Dan Gillett, Kimbia's Chief Executive Officer. "We look forward to supporting GiveMN as they continue to innovate for Minnesota."
Since its inception in 2009, GiveMN has enabled more than $95 million in donations to thousands of nonprofit organizations and schools. GiveMN expects to surpass the $100 million mark this summer.
GiveMN's Give to the Max Day has become an annual fundraising extravaganza. Last year's Give to the Max Day on Nov. 14 sparked a record $17 million in contributions to nearly 4,500 nonprofit organizations and schools. Despite a five-hour website outage, more than 52,000 people made donations.
With the Kimbia partnership, the transaction fee for donations made through GiveMN will remain at 4.9%. The fee, which is among the lowest available in the nonprofit sector, covers all the technology, processing and administrative costs associated with online giving.
"The partnership with Kimbia is the result of a thoughtful and rigorous process," said Todd Hauschildt, a member of the GiveMN Board of Directors and CEO of SWAT Solutions, a Minnesota software consulting firm. "Kimbia is the best possible option to enable us to build the future of giving in Minnesota."
To ensure that the transition to the updated giving platform goes as smoothly as possible, GiveMN will work closely with its users, nonprofit organizations, schools and Kimbia. Kimbia has extensive experience successfully moving organizations onto its technology platform - one of the key factors in GiveMN's decision to partner with the company.
GiveMN is also working with local partner Fast Horse, an integrated marketing agency based in Minneapolis. Fast Horse is helping with the content and design of GiveMN's new site.
By using technology in innovative ways, GiveMN links donors with organizations that are making Minnesota a better place. Its online giving website, GiveMN.org, enables giving anytime and anyplace, allowing people to donate with ease and enthusiasm. GiveMN brings excitement, energy and fresh ideas to Minnesota generosity.
GiveMN is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an affiliate of Minnesota Philanthropy Partners. Launched in 2009 by Minnesota Community Foundation, GiveMN is supported by many generous foundation and corporate partners from every corner of the state. In addition, the people of Minnesota and users of the GiveMN.org website contribute individual gifts to support GiveMN.
Today, GiveMN serves nearly 8,400 nonprofit organizations and schools across every Minnesota county and more than 227,000 donors who have used GiveMN to make a difference for causes in their communities. Organizations rely on GiveMN to help shatter the old-school fundraising model and connect more givers with more causes than ever before.
Kimbia's flexible, best-of-breed, Omni-Channel Fundraising(tm) platform enables causes to create a deeper donor relationship by leveraging the strengths of each channel and putting their donors at the center of all development activities. Ultimately this approach results in greater brand awareness, giving and lifelong loyalty. Kimbia is proud to support more than 5,000 customers to date, including the American Heart Association, Smithsonian Institution, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, Columbia University, Georgetown University, KCSM - San Mateo, WGBH -
