Iowa Council of Foundations to Host Corporate Philanthropy Institute
(Des Moines, Iowa)- The Iowa Council of Foundations (ICoF), a statewide membership association of grant making foundations and corporate giving programs, will host a one-day conference on corporate philanthropy May 22, 2014 at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. Businesses of all sizes are invited to learn about ways to build or enhance their charitable giving and social responsibility programs.
The Iowa Council of Foundations Corporate Philanthropy Institute: Doing Good Well will feature national experts in the field who will address such topics as legal and ethical considerations for corporate giving programs; cause related marketing; measuring the impact of philanthropic programs; and how to best maximize employee volunteer, matching gifts, advocacy, and sponsorship programs.
ICoF President Laura Sauser says the day-long conference is targeted to businesses of all sizes who are interested in supporting their local communities. "More and more, today's business leaders are coming to understand how important corporate citizenship is to their customers and to their employees. The main goal of this conference is to help companies big and small better strategize and maximize their corporate citizenship activities." She added that the conference will also serve as a way for business leaders interested in corporate social responsibility to network with and learn from colleagues around the state.
Featured speakers will include John Coy, Senior Consultant, Global Impact; Suzanne Friday, Counsel, Council on Foundations; Chad Jester, President - Nationwide Insurance Foundation/Vice-President - Corporate Citizenship; Heather Peeler, Vice President of Member and Partner Engagement, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations; and Kori Reed, Vice President, Cause and Foundation, ConAgra Foods.
