REGISTER TODAY FOR THE IOWA SENIOR GAMES
Compete in 29 Sports and Nearly 100 Events
Ames, IA - May 15, 2014 - The 28th annual Iowa Senior Games (ISG) will be held in West Des Moines June 12-15. Athletes ages 50 and over can register to compete in this Olympic-style competition with 29 sports and nearly 100 events. The early registration deadline is May 19 and the registration fee is $35. After May 19 the registration fee will increase to $40. Registration fee includes a t-shirt, admission to the Hall of Fame banquet, and an unlimited number of Iowa Senior Games events.
"This year's event will be full of great competition and we are expecting a record number of athletes," commented Iowa Senior Games director, Matt Beatty. "The West Des Moines community has been a great partner for the Games and we are excited to host another great event."
Over 800 athletes from across Iowa and the nation are expected to compete. Age groups are broken into 5 year brackets (50-54, 55-59, etc.) with gold, silver and bronze medals awarded to each group.
Participants in this year's Games will have an opportunity to qualify for the 2015 National Senior Games, held in Minneapolis, MN.
