Columbia College-San Luis Obispo to hold commencement May 30
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., May 29 - Columbia College-San Luis Obispo will recognize graduates at a commencement ceremony Friday, May 31, at 6 p.m. at the Cuesta College Student Services Center, San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Mike Kateman, executive director for Development, Alumni and Public Relations at Columbia College, will give the commencement address. Dr. Eric Cunningham, associate dean for the Division of Adult Higher Education, will confer the degrees.
"We are pleased to honor our students' achievements," said Cunningham. "The road to higher education is not easy, and commencement is a fantastic opportunity for our students and their families to celebrate this milestone."
Originally established in 1998 as an extension of the Los Alamitos campus, Columbia College classes in San Luis Obispo were first held on the California National Guard base, located adjacent to Cuesta College. A distinct Columbia College-San Luis Obispo campus opened in 2001, and operations were relocated to facilities on the Cuesta College campus with the establishment of a partnership with Cuesta College. Today the college continues to serve civilian and military adult learners in San Luis Obispo County.
Columbia College-San Luis Obispo is approved to offer five bachelor's degree programs in-seat as well as 23 associate, bachelor's and master's degrees online.
