Columbia College of Missouri-Crystal Lake and Columbia College of Missouri-Elgin to hold commencement June 7
Elgin, Ill., June 3 - Columbia College-Crystal Lake and Columbia College of Missouri-Elgin will recognize graduates at a commencement ceremony June 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the Events Center at Elgin Community College.
Mike Kateman, executive director for Development, Alumni and Public Relations at Columbia College of Missouri, will give the commencement address. Dr. Nathan Miller, assistant dean for Adult Higher Education, will confer degrees.
"We are pleased to honor our students' achievements," said Miller. "The road to higher education is not easy, and commencement is a fantastic opportunity for our students and their families to celebrate this milestone."
Columbia College of Missouri features four campuses in the state of Illinois, located in Lake County (Gurnee), Crystal Lake, Elgin and Freeport, and offers a variety of in-seat and online degrees. In 1974 the college entered into an agreement to provide post-secondary education opportunities for sailors at Naval Station Great Lakes. Today, 40 years later, the Columbia College of Missouri campuses in Illinois serve more than 2,250 students annually. There are more than 4,700 Columbia College alumni in the state of Illinois, the third largest college alumni population in the nation.
