Trees Forever honors Iowa landowner with Environmental Steward Award
Judson Isebrands is recognized for outstanding work
IOWA CITY, Iowa (June 18, 2019) – Trees Forever recognizes Judson Isebrands with the Environmental Steward Award. He received the award during the Iowa City Annual Celebration and Award Dinner on June 13 at the Celebration Farm (located at 4696 Robin Woods Lane NE, Iowa City).
Jud is a world renowned expert in tree physiology and environmental forestry practices. He has published numerous scholarly papers, articles, and books. His most recent project consisted of planting hundreds of native seedlings on his property in Montgomery County, Iowa to prevent riverbank erosion, manage invasive species, and more.
“Jud is one of the most passionate advocates for trees and the Trees Forever mission I have ever known or met,” said Margaret McQuown, who nominated Jud.
Every year, Trees Forever recognizes outstanding volunteers, environmental stewards, partners and advocates at Trees Forever’s Annual Celebration and Awards Dinner.
“Every one of our volunteers and landowner has made a brighter, greener future for the next generation, but these awards recognize the most outstanding-those who truly exemplify the Trees Forever mission.” Trees Forever CEO and Found President Shannon Ramsay said.
