LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY CONTINUES MAKING A DIFFERENCE
PELLA, Iowa (October 7, 2025) – Mama Maids Cleaning Services, LLC, led by owners Brian and Stephanie Dahm, has been making an extraordinary impact in the lives of cancer patients across Southcentral Iowa for the past three years through its partnership with Cleaning for a Reason. By providing free, professional home cleanings to those courageously battling cancer, Mama Maids helps lift the burden of household chores, bringing comfort, relief, and a brighter, cleaner space during an incredibly challenging time.
Shared Stephanie Dahm, co-owner and CEO of Mama Maids, “My mother bravely battled stage IV cancer, and through that journey, I witnessed firsthand the immense challenges that come with such a diagnosis-the exhaustion, the worry, and the overwhelming tasks that often fall by the wayside. That’s why we’re committed to easing that burden by providing free cleaning services. Cleaning for cancer patients has been life-changing for both the recipients and our team. Our cleaning patients are some of our favorite people in the world, and we are currently caring for a stage IV palliative care patient who has become part of our family and holds a special place in our hearts.”
Mama Maids has been a premium Cleaning for a Reason partner since 2022, serving 24 cancer patients with donated cleanings valued at $10,099. In partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Mama Maids serves two cancer patients’ homes each month for two consecutive months free of charge. This ongoing service is available to cancer patients residing in Pella, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, Eddyville, Ottumwa, Cedar, Otley, Harvey, Keomah Village, Montezuma, Prairie City, Monroe, Albia, Bloomfield, and Fairfield.
Cancer patients – of any age, gender, or type of cancer – can apply for free house cleaning services at cleaningforareason.org/patients.
To help more cancer patients receive the gift of a clean home, donations can be made directly to Cleaning for a Reason through Mama Maids’ fundraising page: bit.ly/3M4hqZV. Cleaning for a Reason is a 501(c)(3) organization and will promptly issue a tax-deductible receipt for all donations received.
