WATERLOO, Iowa (December 11, 2025) – Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) celebrated the addition of Iowa 80 Trucking Museum in Walcott as a new heritage area site during a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The newly designated site joins a growing network dedicated to honoring the people, places, and processes that define the nation’s farming legacy. Ranging from dairy farms and museums to vineyards and tractor assembly plants, there are 119 sites and attractions in the heritage area formally designated with preserving and sharing their own unique part of America’s agricultural story.

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum was a dream of Iowa 80 Truckstop founder, Bill Moon. The collection of vintage vehicles features more than 120 rare trucks from all walks of life. Each truck has a story to tell and can provide a unique glimpse back in time. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum is free to visit and also features antique toys and signs.

“We’re excited to welcome the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum into the Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area,” said Candy Welch Streed, Director of Partnerships at Silos & Smokestacks. “This site adds a meaningful voice to the broader story of American agriculture. Its commitment to preserving and interpreting the history of agricultural trucking strengthens our collective mission to celebrate the heritage, innovation, and culture that define Iowa’s farming legacy.”
