Silos & Smokestacks Headquarters Temporarily Closed
WATERLOO, Iowa (June 13, 2025) – Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) announces the temporary closure of its headquarters due to the unexpected collapse of an adjacent building. Out of an abundance of caution and in coordination with local authorities, the building housing SSNHA offices has been closed until further notice.
All SSNHA staff are continuing operations remotely or from a temporary office location. Despite the disruption, the organization remains fully operational and committed to serving the heritage area.
“We’re incredibly thankful that no one was injured, and we appreciate the swift response from emergency personnel,” said Cara Miller, Executive Director of SSNHA. “Special thanks to JSA Development for providing temporary office space while our staff is displaced.”
Staff can be reached via email and cell phone, for contact information click at www.silosandsmokestacks.org/contact.
