DES MOINES, Iowa (June 7, 2026) – A new podcast show, Reasonable, debuted today on Apple podcasts and Spotify. Oscar Rivas, the show’s host, announced the show on his personal social media account. The show describes itself as “smart conversations with experts in economics, business, and politics.”
The first guest on the show is Iowa State University Professor of Economics Emerita, Elizabeth Hoffman.
“As an avid podcast listener myself, I was over the same tired political points of view,” said Oscar Rivas, the host of Reasonable. “I wanted somewhere where listeners could come listen to a calm conversation about real ideas, from experts – that’s the key, the experts – then after that they can put their own political filter on it.”
‘I want this to appeal to many listeners on the political spectrum. I have my political points of view like everyone else, but I like listening to people talk about real ideas even when I don’t always agree with them. I am hopeful other people will too.” Rivas said.
The next guest scheduled to speak with Rivas on Reasonable is John Warner, the green chemist who most recently made an appearance on Netflix’s hit documentary, Plastic Detox.
